6-day retreat with Ajahn Mudito

An autumn meditation retreat at Oddechowo withAjahn Mudito, a monk of the Australian Sangha, known to Polish practitioners from the weekend Zoom sessions organised by PEBS and from his earlier visits to Poland. It will be a time of silence, simplicity and attention to what really matters – in the quiet November atmosphere, surrounded by nature, with the intention of letting the Dhamma become a living experience.

Who it is for

For those who wish to practise meditation in the Buddhist tradition and receive teachings from Ajahn Mudito in an atmosphere of mindfulness and kindness.

Programme

Because of the November date, the retreat will open with the practice ofMaraṇasati, mindfulness of death – consciously recalling that life is impermanent. In the Buddhist tradition this reflection helps to tame fear and, above all, to appreciate life more fully and deepen practice in the present moment. The rest of the retreat consists of teachings, silence and shared practice, with an emphasis on gentleness and radical self-acceptance.

Facilitators

Ajahn Muditois valued for his deep knowledge of the suttas and his gift for conveying them; his teaching reminds students to be gentle with themselves. Originally from northern Finland, he lived in the USA for years and, after meeting Ajahn Brahm, moved to Australia – in 2010 he settled at Bodhinyana Monastery, where he was ordained as a monk two years later. In keeping with tradition, he teaches free of charge.

• The fee covers part of the cost of accommodation and meals, further subsidised by the Borzymy Foundation; the teachings are free.
